Heads up brides and grooms, this is the best date of 2020 to get married

If you're engaged and trying to decide on a wedding date for next year, perhaps it's time to look to the stars for inspiration.

An astrologer has analysed the heavens and decided on the best day of 2020 to tie the knot.

And you're in luck – if you believe in such things – because there's still plenty of time to get in and plan your dream wedding.

Carolyne Faulkner, founder of Dynamic Astrology, says February 2020 is a "a particularly fortuitous time to enter into lasting partnerships".

Specifically, February 20, 2020 is the best date to get married.

"The number 20 represents the Angel which signifies 'new beginnings', so this could be a key reason for the choice of date - as well as the fact that this correlation forms the unforgettable formula of 20/02/20," Faulkner told Cosmopolitan.

"In astrology number two marks the house of Taurus, and as a sign it is ruled by Venus - the goddess of love and beauty, representing patience, tenacity and a dedication to remain loyal and work hard to build an incredible, lasting union."

In Australia, February 20, 2020, falls on a Thursday so perhaps it's not the most convenient of times to get married.

Although mid-week weddings are becoming more popular – especially for couples wanting to cut down on costs – Saturdays remain the busiest day for marriages. As do the months of March, April, October and November.

And given February is often humid and wet, brides and grooms might want to look for other days throughout the year for their dream celebration.

The good news is, according to Faulkner, any date in 2020 is considered good fortune.

"2020 is the reboot of the age of Aquarius, and this will promote awareness, tolerance, compassion and equality," she says.

"Due to the alignment of planets in 2020, couples who choose to say 'I do' under this astrological phase are very likely to have been in karmic unions many times over, in many other lifetimes; but this life is the one where they may just get it right."
