Tamara Ecclestone relegates husband to cot bed so she can share with their 3yo daughter

Tamara Ecclestone makes no secret of the bond she has with her daughter.

On her ITV reality series Tamara’s World, the British socialite recently spoke about her decision to continue breastfeeding three-year-old Sophia.

Now, husband Jay Rutland has admitted he feels left out of their close relationship, likening it to a “knife in the heart”.

While staying in a luxury hotel during the latest episode, Ecclestone is seen relegating Rutland to a cot bed so she and ‘Fifi’ can sleep together in the double bed.

Hotel staff had originally brought the cot into the room for Sophia to use, but the 33-year-old mum had other ideas.

“Fifi slept in a bassinette next to my bed when she was tiny and then we kinda gave up on that, she just came into the bed,” the daughter of Formula One billionaire Bernie Ecclestone explains in a piece to camera.

“I know a lot of people think that co-sleeping is really dangerous and really bad, but it’s been a really positive experience.

“Fifi will not be ready to go into her own bed for quite some time.”

The episode also captures the moment Rutland discovers Sophia is wearing a locket necklace containing photos of herself and her mother - but not him.

“Typical Tamara, she loves that,” the art gallery owner muses to the camera.

Ecclestone claimed there was a simple explanation, saying, “It seemed natural to put a picture of me in there as it's engraved with her name and my name.”

Her husband didn’t see it quite the same way.

“Tamara takes great pleasure in teasing me, but part of it is like a knife in the heart,” he admits.

“I know what she's doing but it is tough sometimes.”

One parenting decision Rutland is fully on board with, however, is Ecclestone’s intention to allow Sophia to self-wean from breastfeeding.
