Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone's heartwarming moment after breaking a world record
When Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone broke the world record for the sixth time in the 400m hurdles at the Olympics, she had no idea of the surprise her sister-in-law had planned.
The athlete won her gold medal, celebrating with a victory lap before greeting her loved ones who were waiting by the track.
McLaughlin-Levrone went to greet her family when she was handed a stunning tiara to celebrate her achievement.

The gold medallist's husband, former NFL player Andre Levrone, placed the crown on her head and congratulated her on the spectacular achievement.
McLaughlin-Levrone appeared surprised and moved by the gesture, and her family commemorated the star's becoming the first to win two gold medals in the event.

During a post-race press conference, McLaughlin-Levrone explained the moment in footage shared via Yahoo Sports TikTok.
"My sister-in-law brought that. I didn't tell her to bring that. She told me she was going to bring it and she was going to give it to me," the athlete told reporters.

"I thought she was joking, but she was serious ... it's just fun. It's just family. Just commemorating the moment."
McLaughlin-Levrone then shared the joy of having her family with her after attending the Tokyo Olympics alone.

The international event was meant to take place in 2020, but it was pushed back a year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Family, friends, and spectators were not allowed to attend the 2020 Olympics in an effort to reduce the spread of the illness.

"[I'm] really grateful she got to be here," McLaughlin-Levrone said of her sister-in-law.
"My whole family got to be here. Especially after Tokyo, nobody's families were here so it's just special to have them in the crowds."
