The beautiful way single mothers are supporting one another this Christmas

In theory, Christmas is a time of joy - but for many people it can be a source of great stress and anxiety.

With this in mind, hundreds of single mothers across Australia are banding together to provide support for their peers who are in need this festive season.

Facebook community Single Mum Vine has launched a campaign allowing its 8000 members to offer gifts or services to struggling fellow mums in the lead-up to Christmas.

In a matter of weeks, more than 300 ‘gifts’ have been posted in the Facebook page.

These have included everything from toys and books, to restaurant vouchers and invitations to Christmas lunch, to services like house cleaning and dog grooming.

Lucy Good, who created the Single Mum Vine page nine months ago, says the ‘Love a Single Mum This Christmas’ campaign evolved organically.
