Supermarket Specials: Fresh fish features heavily in this week's supermarket specials

It's time to purchase an air fryer, not because you can't cook without it, but just so you can join in the conversation with others who already have one.

From what I can tell, they are life-changing and Aldi has yet another air fryer as part of their Special Buys this week.

At the very least, having an air fryer will free up a stove top or oven for those who have to make multiple dishes to feed fussy families and now is the week to purchase one a fraction of the usual cost.

Another highlight this week is the fresh fish being sold by most supermarkets just in time for the religious period of Lent observed by Christian faiths in the lead up to Easter, which typically involve refraining from eating meat.

Aldi

It's Aldi that is offering a 2.5L digital air fryer for just $39.99, which features a 60-minute timer, a non-stick basket and pot and non-slip feet.

Not only is it affordable, it certainly sounds sturdy, and from what I hear, anything you cook in it will be crispy and delicious.

Coles

At Coles this week they have new-season pears and avocados at really good prices (pears $2.50 per kilo and avocados $2 each). Also in their fruit and veg section you'll find 400g packs of delicious, salty cashews for just $7 each.

The Reject Shop

At The Reject Shop you can pick up 50 cent packets of 500g pasta this week — in many different shapes including penne, spirals, spaghetti and macaroni. The discount retailer is also selling Kantong Butter Chicken Paste 180g for 50 cents and Oreo wafer bites 47g for 80 cents.

That sounds like entrée, main and dessert. They also have a lot of products selling for just $1 each.

Woolworths

Woolies is promoting their in-season produce this week including raspberries and avocados. Raspberries are selling for $3.50 for a 125g punnet. Avocados are selling for $7.50 for a pack of five.

The supermarket chain is also offering some great snack options including pistachios, soya crisps and peanuts for $6 for 400g.

IGA

At IGA this week you will find weekly specials as well as additional 'Market Day' savings on Friday. All week you will find blue whiting fillets selling for $11 per kilo, Sirena tuna ready-to-eat varieties for $3.20 each and John West tinned mackerel fillets at $2.50 each.

'Market Day' savings this Friday include Australian lamb legs selling for $11.50 per kilo, washed potatoes for $2 per kilo and roast chickens at $8 each.
