Television presenter Shelly Horton's hilarious Zoom blunder shocks friend's whole office

Aussies have had to adapt during the coronavirus pandemic, but even the best of us are still learning after almost two years of a new normal.

Nine presenter Shelly Horton is evidence of the fact — although she's mastered the art of working from home, when it comes to virtually catching up with her friends off the clock, all bets — and, apparently, clothes — are off.

Shelly, who is currently enjoying the warm weather of the Gold Coast, gave her two friends the shock of their lives when she logged on to their Zoom call.

"I was just wearing a strapless dress because I'm up in the Gold Coast, and so it's quite warm here," Shelly tells 9Honey.

"So I was just wearing like a cotton strapless dress. And it wasn't until I actually got on the call that both of my girlfriends were like, 'Are you naked?!'"

At that point, Shelly stood up and showed her friends — Sydney-based Jennifer Bicknell and Melbourne-based Sarah Ryding, who were checking in on Shelly to make sure she's alright in home quarantine — that she was, in actual fact, wearing a dress.

It was a bit too late for those in Jennifer's office, however, who had already seen a glimpse of Shelly's not-quite-flash, and thought she was an eccentric new client.

Eventually, Shelly cleared up the misunderstanding with a slight wardrobe change.

"I had a neck strap [on the dress] I could put up," Shelly tells 9Honey.

"I put the next strap up so that they could see the 'V.'"

Shelly appreciates the irony of the situation, especially since she teaches classes on how to master working from home, including virtual meetings — although since it was a personal call, her guard was down.

Recently, a United States-based news channel, however, did not have the luxury of failing during their personal time — having accidentally aired a 13-second porn clip while their weather presenter was broadcasting live on-air.
