An entire news team was aflutter following a fowl display from a feathered foe in New Zealand.

In a clip posted to Tyson's Instagram page, the 32-year-old was braving the windy weather for Te Ao with Moana in Auckland's Britomart Square when a winged blur cut across the shot.

The stunned reporter appeared to swear, cupping her face in her hands as the camera man rushed to check in on her.

He then noticed Tyson's eye had been nicked by the bird, and had begun bleeding.

The sheer force of the impact resulted in a wince-inducing 'thud', however the reporter took it like a champ, only thrown off for a minute before reassuring her colleague she was "alright".

Tyson later shared a snap of the damage, revealing a bloody gash that had only narrowly missed her eye.

"The commitment to the job is real! Bird needed @specsaversnewzealand really!" the reporter joked good-naturedly.
