Rude note left on ambulance during time-critical callout

British paramedics were stunned to receive a note from a resident berating them for their parking position during a time-critical callout last week.

Staff from the West Midlands Ambulance Service (WMAS) found the message on their windscreen after treating a patient with internal bleeding, who later died in hospital, on Friday.

“You may be saving lives, but don’t park your van in a stupid place and block my drive,” it read.  

Sharing a photo of the note on Twitter and Instagram, the WMAS said it was lost for words.

In a subsequent tweet, one staffer explained the ambulance had only parked outside the man’s residence temporarily.

“The crew were not on scene long due to how poorly the patient was,” Sam Grimson wrote.

“We always try to park appropriately but sometimes it is not possible.”

Metro reports the man died in Heartlands Hospital on Friday evening.

Followers expressed their shock at the driver’s rudeness and shared their support of ambulance staff and their work.

On Sunday, another driver lashed out at WMAS paramedics after they parked behind them to treat a patient in Birmingham.

“Two crews were treating a cardiac arrest patient today - the most serious case we can attend - and someone banged on the side of the ambulance asking them to move as they couldn't get their car out!” the service tweeted.

“Sorry, patients come first.”
