11: Liechtenstein's royal family
Scraping into the 11th spot is Liechtenstein's royal family, which, despite being a small monarchy, is worth $US4.4 billion ($6,835,004,000) according to BuyShares.
The family's wealth rests in the hands of the reigning monarch, Prince Hans-Adam II, who rules the Alpine principality and is a financier.
As these royals don't pay income taxes, Prince Hans-Adam grew his wealth through the family's private bank, the LTG group.
10: Moroccan royal family
The Alaouite dynasty, who rule over Morocco, have built an impressive financial portfolio and are run by the country's ruler, King Mohammed VI.
According to Forbes, Morocco's royal family has an estimated net worth of roughly $US5.7 billion ($885,0732,000).
King Mohammed inherited a 35 per cent stake in Societe Nationale d'Investissement, which has stakes in multiple public trading companies.
The Moroccan royals are also one of the few monarchs to have civil lists, which allow the government to pay the family money for their royal duties and service to the state.
Most of the Monaco royal family's wealth stems from its monarch.
Albert II, Prince of Monaco, has been the ruler of Monaco since 2005 and inherited the wealth of his parents and country.
Succeeding Prince Rainier III and Princess Grace Kelly, Albert is also a wealthy businessman.
The royal owns land in Monaco and France and earns income from his involvement in various luxury hotels, real estate and entertainment properties, such as the Monte Carlo Casino.

Unlike many royal families, they are both asset and cash-wealthy, which allows them to splash out on life's many luxuries.
7: Brunei's royal family
The royal family of Brunei has earned their riches through their country's lucrative oil reserves.
According to Forbes, in 2011, the Sultan was worth $US20 billion ($31,079,065,200), though it is predicted to have grown significantly throughout the years.
Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah is known for being flashy with his riches.
He lives in a 200,000-square-metre palace and is said to own private jets, hundreds of Rolls-Royces and supercars.
6: The British royal family
The British royals are worth an estimated $28 billion, according to Forbes.
The royals receive a Sovereign Grant each year to cover official expenses, including property maintenance, travel and operating costs, but most of their wealth is inherited.
Like many British aristocrats, much of their riches are tied up in sprawling estates, castles and jewels.
5: Thailand's royal family
Thailand's royal family is significantly wealthy and their King, King Maha Vajiralongkorn, is said to be the richest monarch in the world.
The Chakri dynasty is reportedly worth $US60 billion ($93,237,195,600) as a family.
However, due to a lèse-majesté ("to do wrong to majesty"), how they make their riches are protected by anti-defamation policies.
4: Abu Dhabi's royal family
Abu Dhabi's royal family has one of the most fruitful incomes due to its oil industry, which puts its estimated net worth at $US150 billion ($233,092,989,000), according to BuyShares.
The House of Nahyan is led by Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the UAE president and chair of the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority.
3: Qatar's royal family
The royal family of Qatar, the House of Thani, is said to be worth a jaw-dropping $US335 billion ($520,574,342,100) via BuyShares.
The family is heavily invested in luxury real estate and various lucrative firms, including Barclays, British Airways and Harrods.
