The gorgeous way Disney celebrated the birth of Harry and Meghan's son

Plenty of babies have Disney merchandise in their possession, thanks to doting relatives who can't resist the cuteness of a Mickey Mouse onesie or Snow White bib.

However, very few newborns will grow up with the bragging rights of their birth having been celebrated with a bespoke animation from the iconic company.

Following the arrival of Archie Mountbatten-Windsor on May 6, Disney created a special Winnie-the-Pooh animation in his honour.

Along with the honey-loving bear, the sweet clip features cartoon versions of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and their newborn son in a cradle.

The animation follows Winnie-the-Pooh as he walks from the Hundred Acre Wood to Windsor Castle, a book with a crown on the cover under his arm.

The bear is then seen sitting beside Harry and Meghan in baby Archie's nursery, as the proud new parents flip through the book with smiles on their faces.

Royal commentator Omid Scobie shared the animation on Twitter, writing, "The short was hand-painted in watercolour by Disney’s senior principal artist Kim Raymond."

The Winnie-the-Pooh clip is likely to have struck a chord with Prince Harry in particular.

When his nephew Prince Louis was born last April, the Duke reportedly splashed out on a rare first-edition of the beloved AA Milne classic as a gift.

Published in 1926, the book is said to have cost $15,000, and was part of Harry's idea to create a library of first-editions for his two nephews and niece.

"He originally wanted to get Lewis Carroll’s Through The Looking Glass, which was on sale for £24,000 ($AU45,000), but decided Winnie-The-Pooh would be more suitable reading material," a source told The Sun at the time.
