First day of school for Sweden's young Princess Estelle

One of Sweden's youngest royals has marked a very big milestone – her first day of school.

Princess Estelle was pictured proudly walking hand in hand with her parents, Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel, into the school grounds.

The six-year-old has now started at Campus Manilla, just outside of Stockholm.

The facility welcomes both primary and secondary students and is one of the most exclusive in the country.

Sweden's royal family shared three photos of Princess Estelle's first day on its official Instagram page.

She was accompanied by her mum and dad, complete with a new backpack.

The young royal was also pictured smiling at her desk inside a classroom.

Just yesterday, Sweden's royal family released a series of official photos to mark the summer.

Princess Estelle posed with her brother, Prince Oscar, who was riding his pony, named Viktor.

The children, and their parents, were also photographed with their grandparents – Sweden's King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia.

An adorable family portrait of Prince Carl Philip and his wife, Princess Sofia, was shared on their official Instagram page. Featuring Prince Alexander, two, and Prince Gabriel, who will turn one at the end of the month, the photo was taken during a family holiday to the United States.

The Swedish royal family is quite savvy with social media, frequently posting photos showing life behind palace walls.

Yesterday, Crown Princess Victoria posted six photos from the family's recent summer holiday, which included a cruise on the ocean.

Her children were also photographed prepping the family pony Viktor for a ride around the castle grounds.
