Sarah Ferguson is the ultimate proud mum at the royal wedding

Sarah Ferguson has already become the highlight of the royal wedding.

Princess Eugenie’s mother was beaming as she arrived at Windsor Castle, minutes before her daughter and just after the groom himself, Jack Brooksbank.

Wearing a green dress by Emma Louise - a local Ascot designer - matching hat by Jess Collett and a bag her own mother, Sarah Barrantes, used when she wed Prince Andrew in 1986, Fergie exited her car and happily greeted the crowds waiting for the royals. 

She appeared slightly nervous as she waited for the ceremony to begin, and could be seen fanning herself while sitting in the pews. 

But when Eugenie arrived, wearing jewellery the exact colour of her mother's dress, Fergie was every inch the proud mother - and the public couldn't get enough of her.

There were rumours that the day would be awkward for the mother of the bride due to her restrained relationship with the royals, and particularly Prince Philip. However, there appeared to be no tension in the church, with all attendees seemingly in good spirits.

Fergie has previously gushed on social media about the wedding of her daughter and Jack, saying: "We really believe in that, you can see that the York family unity - it's all about seeing the light in life.

"Jack is a really sort of amazing bringer of light and he brings joy. I say to Jack always just stay yourself and I'd say that to anybody what else can you do in life.

She's also said that she'll be "the best" mother-in-law, and can't wait to be a grandmother because she's never grown up herself.
