Scott shared that he met the royals during a performance for the Commonwealth, recalling, "The Queen had a gentleman with her, and he was telling the Queen who everybody was in line and whatever…. there was a little bit of a franticness.

"And they went, 'Oh, just stand there. She's coming now'.

"So I stood there, and they're meeting everybody, and this guy goes to the Queen, 'Oh, so this is John Alabamu. He's one of the drummers for this band'."

Clearly, the man had the wrong information and Scott was forced to correct him.

"I was there, and I was like, 'I'm Calum Scott'. And then the Queen laughed, and I laughed, and then I found it really awkward, and she moved on."

The situation went from bad to worse when the "same thing happened" and the man again introduced him incorrectly to Prince William.

But he had a moment of vindication when the Prince of Wales took one look at him and corrected the man, saying, 'No, that's Calum Scott'."

"He knew who I was. That's cool, isnt it?" Scott said.

Scott first rose to fame in 2015 after a stint on Britain's Got Talent, with his performance leading Simon Cowell to give him a Golden Buzzer.

Though he came sixth, Scott has since come out with a string of big hits, including Where Are You Now, Roots and You Are The Reason, featuring Leona Lewis.
