The royal nanny is banned from saying this one word

Maria Borrallo was hired by Kate Middleton and Prince William as a nanny to their three kids: Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

But Borrallo would not be allowed to repeat that sentence.

After having been trained at the Norland College in Bath, one of the country’s top child care training centres, the royal nanny has been banned from using this one particular word while at work.

Borrallo has been taught to never refer to the little royals as ‘kids’. Instead, they should be referred to as ‘children’, or simply by their names, as this is a “mark of respect for the children as individuals,” according to Louise Herren, a documentary-maker who studied the college.

Despite the fact that the nanny lives at Kensington Palace and is expected to accompany the royal family on all of their royal tours and holiday, it would be no surprise that she would maintain this important rule in all her interactions with the kids – er, children.

And while they endure very specific rules such as this one, Louise believes that George, Charlotte and Louis lead relatively normal lives at home.

"Given what we have seen of Catherine when she is out in public, she's very hands on,” she said.

"I imagine her relationship with Maria is very close and they collaborate greatly on the care of the children.”
