Rob Lowe clarifies his comments about Prince William's hair loss

Rob Lowe has backtracked on his comments about Prince William's hair loss.

In an interview from LA on UK breakfast show Good Morning Britain, The West Wing star clarified comments he originally made to co-host Piers Morgan's wife, journalist Celia Walden.

"My point was here’s a guy who is fully comfortable in his own skin, then on the other side of the coin you have me, I can’t even watch another guy go bald without being even more narcissistic and wanting to plug in the propecia into a drip into my own," he said via satellite link.

"This is my thing, I saw the hubbub it caused on your side of the pond, I think it’s a case of two countries divided by a common language. Because that was literally me slagging my own insecurity and narcissism.

"He’s a stud, I love him. He’s awesome," he added.

In the interview, printed in The Telegraph last month, Lowe, 55, told Walden: "Can we talk about William? The future king of your country let himself lose his hair!

"Honestly, one of the great traumatic experiences of my life was watching Prince William lose his hair. He’s going to be the f—king king of England!"

"The first glimmer that a single hair of mine was going to fall out, I was having that stuff mainlined into my veins," he added.

"And that’s what I did for the next 30 years."

The Hollywood hunk laughed about the controversial comments as Morgan jibbed him about the interview, joking the star is never allowed near his wife again.

Following the interview in February, Walden took to Instagram to post a photo of the pair, captioned: "If anyone’s distracting enough to make you slice half your own head off, it’s Mr Lowe. Don’t rush home, Piers."

"Get away from him if you want to stay married," Morgan tweeted back at the time.

Morgan introduced the actor with his hands folded in front of him, saying: "Sickeningly youthful, fit, tanned, handsome. God I hate you...and you're a year older than me Lowey... disgusts me every time I look at you."

"I knew I'd be getting some great abuse the minute you got on with me Piers," Lowe laughed.
