Queen Mary surprised onlookers with a quick outfit change for her latest public appearance on a royal yacht.

The Aussie-born Queen of Denmark recently boarded the Royal Yacht Dannebrog for a trip around Copenhagen Harbour with her husband King Frederik.

Mary was seen setting sail in a stunning navy coat and matching stiletto heels with her brown locks out and flowing in the wind.

But once boarded on the boat, the Danish royal underwent a quick style transformation.

Into the voyage, Queen Mary removed her coat to reveal a gorgeous long-sleeved polka dot dress beneath with a thin white belt and collar neckline.

The Hobart native kept the same shoes on but switched up her hair with a stylish up-do complete with a chic white headband to match her belt.

Her husband King Frederik was dressed in uniform for the occasion ahead of their first summer sailing trip as monarchs in August.

The Queen has become known for recycling her clothes for public engagements over the years – and this was no different.

Mary previously was sighted wearing the exact same chic dress three years ago.

The Queen first wore the stylish gown, which appeared to be the Iris & Ink Alison Polka-Dot Satin Midi Dress, back in 2021 for her son Prince Christian's confirmation.

On May 15, 2021 Queen Mary joined the Danish royal family on for then 15-year-old son's confirmation into the Lutheran faith.

Mary styled her polka dot gown, with different accessories to her latest 2024 appearance, pairing the dress with nude stiletto heels.

She also opted for a colour-matching headband while styling her hair in a low ponytail.

Just weeks earlier, Mary recycled another outfit from her closet for a meeting with the leader of the United Nation's global authority for the environment in March.

The Danish royal wore a skirt by Alexander McQueen that she first wore six years ago to an event to mark International Disability Day in 2018.
