Queen Letizia's week of head-turning looks

Queen Letizia of Spain has shown off three stylish looks during a busy week of engagements in Madrid.

The mother of two even took her daughters to one of the events.

Letizia, 47, chose a white blouse and a black leather skirt for the 9th Forum Against Cancer, which focused on the economic impact of the disease.

Queen Letizia is honorary president of the Spanish Association Against Cancer and spoke at the event, which was held on World Cancer Day (February 4).

"What happens when a person is unemployed, is self-employed, when a person receives an income less than or equal to the minimum interprofessional salary and is diagnosed with cancer?" Letizia told the audience.

"Thank the Spanish Association Against Cancer for giving us the opportunity to talk about what really matters."

Cancer is considered Spain's most important health, social and economic problem in the country, with 275,000 new cases diagnosed each year, affecting 1.5 million people.

The previous day, on February 3, Queen Letizia joined her husband King Felipe for the official opening of Spanish parliament, the Cortes Generales.

Their daughters, Princess Leonor, 14, and Infanta Sofía, 12, were present for the occasion, which began with a military display before the ceremony inside the Lower House.

Princess Leonor and Infanta Sofia – who were looking very grown up - sat with their mother while King Felipe officially opened the 14th Legislative Sessions.

Afterwards, the royal family watched the parade of the Grouping of the Armed Forces before meeting guests.

Princess Leonor is heir to the Spanish throne and occasionally joins her parents on official engagements, along with her younger sister.

Queen Letizia chose a bespoke white asymmetrical dress for the occasion with a black Carolina Herrera wrap and snakeskin heels and clutch.

Earlier in the week, Queen Letizia wore an all-red ensemble – the colour of the Spanish flag – to welcome the nation's female waterpolo team to the Zarzuela Palace.

The wide-leg trousers and woollen knit are from one of Queen Letizia's favourite labels, Hugo Boss.
