Queen forced to give up daily walks with her dogs following hospital visit

The Queen has been ordered by her doctors to give up her daily walks with her dogs after her stay at hospital last week.

It has been a long-time daily ritual for Her Majesty to walk her two corgis and "dorgi" (a cross between a dachshund and a corgi) on the grounds of her Windsor estate, near Frogmore, where Harry and Meghan once lived.

The Daily Mail says that her friends and family call her ritual a "tonic", attributing the Queen's remarkable health even at her age to the daily walks.

Buckingham Palace reported that the Queen has been taking the doctor's orders seriously, while still undertaking some "light duties" at Windsor Castle.

The palace has also announced that the Queen has cancelled her planned engagement at the COP26 climate conference in Glasgow next week. She was meant to represent the Royal Family at the United Nations Climate Conference, and meet world leaders, including Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison.

"Her Majesty is disappointed not to attend the reception but will deliver an address to the assembled delegates via a recorded video message,'' the palace said.
