Queen beams during virtual audiences amid renewed health concerns

Queen Elizabeth has been spotted back at work, as concerns for the 95-year-old's health swirl again.

Her Majesty was seen beaming as she appeared at Buckingham Palace via video link from Windsor Castle.

Wearing a royal purple dress with her signature layered pearl necklace and a brooch, the monarch looked well and engaged as she held virtual audiences.

The Queen greeted the ambassador of Qatar, Fahad bin Mohammed Al-Attiyah, as well as Poland's ambassador, Professor Piotr Wilczek.

The cheerful shots of the monarch come amid claims Her Majesty is increasingly frail and suggestions she is now using a wheelchair, which is what has prompted her to cancel appearances at recent events.

The 95-year-old pulled out of attending the Commonwealth Day Service at Westminster Abbey at the last minute, with comfort levels cited as the reason.

But it sparked concerns the widow may not attend her late husband Prince Philip's Thanksgiving Service at Westminster Abbey next week.

It's understood a number of options are currently being considered by royal aides to ensure Her Majesty is able to attend the Duke of Edinburgh's belated memorial.

Royals from all across Europe are set to attend the service, which is being held almost one year after Prince Philip died of old age, at 99.

His funeral was limited to a guest list of 30 people at the time, due to coronavirus restrictions.

While Prince Harry attended his grandfather's funeral last year at St George's Chapel in Windsor, the Duke of Sussex will not be attending Prince Philip's memorial.

Prince Andrew is set to be in attendance at the public memorial for his father, after his civil sexual assault court case was settled.
