Prince Harry 'absolutely furious' over his treatment at Queen's Platinum Jubilee, author claims

Prince Harry is "absolutely furious" about how he and wife Meghan were treated during the Queen's Platinum Jubilee weekend, according to a royal author.

"I think he would have been very, very upset that he was largely ignored," Angela Levin tells The Sun.

"He still feels he's owed an apology."

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex returned to the UK as a family in early June for the first time since their resignation as senior working royals in early 2020, joining in on Her Majesty's celebrations.

Levin spent a year with Prince Harry, 36, while writing her biography Harry: A Biography of a Prince, released in 2018 – the year of his wedding to Meghan Markle, 40.

Despite her relationship with the duke, Levin says it is Harry who owes the royal family an apology.

"He said during the Oprah interview that Charles and William were trapped, he said he'd been cut off by his father," she continues.

"You can't just go around being rude about people and expecting them to open their hearts to you again."

She says Prince Harry and Prince William didn't meet in private during the four days of celebrations, although the Sussexes did meet with the Queen, who met her namesake, Lilibet, one, for the first time.

It has been reported the duke and duchess hosted a birthday party for Lilibet at Frogmore Cottage, inviting the royals to join them.

However the Cambridges did not attend, as they were attending to Jubilee-related duties in Wales before preparing to attend the concert that afternoon.

Harry and Meghan attended Trooping the Colour last Thursday, although they were not part of the parade or royals' balcony appearance.

They were seen publicly at the Service of Thanksgiving at St Paul's Cathedral, where they reportedly received a combination of cheers and boos from the crowd.

During the service, they were seated across the aisle from senior working royals.

Levin believes Harry was angry that day.

"He wears his emotions on his face and he looked absolutely furious ... he could have been feeling lots of things. I don't know whether he had a wave of feeling at what he had given up," she tells The Sun.

While Queen Elizabeth was happy for the couple to return to the UK with their children Archie, three, and Lilibet one, to join the Jubilee celebrations, she did reportedly set some boundaries ahead of their return.

It was thought the couple would insist on bringing a Netflix documentary film crew with them for the trip, and wanted a photographer to capture the moment Lilibet met her great-grandmother.

However, Her Majesty reportedly refused this request due to fears the picture would leak publicly.

Instead, the moment was kept private and Harry and Meghan later released a solo birthday portrait of Lilibet online.

Prince Harry is still reportedly working on a tell-all memoir set to be released later this year, which is sure to be adding to tensions with his family.

He and Meghan have now returned to the US, where they operate their organisation Archewell.
