Kate reveals Prince Louis' touching comment about the Queen: 'At least Grannie is with Great-Grandpa now'

As the world mourns the loss of the longest-reigning British monarch, members of the royal family are mourning their beloved matriarch.

One member of the public says she overheard Kate, the Princess of Wales sharing the sweet sentiment her son Prince Louis offered upon his great-grandmother's passing.

During the Prince and Princess of Wales and Duke and Duchess of Sussex's walkabout at Windsor Castle overnight, Banita Ranow, 28, heard Kate tell the children, "Louis said, 'At least Grannie is with Great-Grandpa now'."

Ranow said that the new Princess was "welling up" as she spoke to the kids, according to the Daily Mail.

The well-wisher also expressed her surprise at seeing Prince William and Prince Harry together, saying, "'It was really nice."

For Prince Louis, Friday was meant to be an exciting first day of school, but it was marred by the death of his great-grandmother the previous afternoon.

Louis and his siblings Prince George and Princess Charlotte, along with their mother Kate, stayed behind at Adelaide Cottage on Thursay while their father, Prince William, and other senior royals rushed to be with the Queen in her final moments at Balmoral Castle.
