The Danish Royal House has shared a new angle from the Crown Prince couple's proclamation on the balcony of Christiansborg Palace.
The behind-the-scenes photos were shared to the palace's official Instagram account.
"A great moment – seen from the other side," the caption read, along with this heartwarming picture capturing the moment Australian-born Queen Mary joined her husband on the balcony.
Another photo was shared to the Danish Royal House's Instagram Story, which featured King Frederik X and Queen Mary holding hands before stepping out on to the balcony following their accession to the throne.
Included in the Danish Royal House's Instagram post was a black-and-white snap of the Australian-born Queen Mary smiling on her way off the balcony.
King Frederik has appeared on the balcony of Christiansborg Palace for the first time since ascending the throne - and for the first five minutes of his proclamation it looked as if his Australian-born wife, Queen Mary, wouldn't be joining him.
The new King had tears in his eyes as he took in the rapturous crowd before the declaration read out by the Danish prime minister.
Australians watching the events at home (it was after midnight in eastern states) would have been forgiven for fearing Queen Mary was not going to make an appearance.
But then the adoring crowds erupted in even louder screams as the Australian-born royal joined her husband on the balcony.
If you take a closer look at Mary's outfit, you'll notice a tribute to a very special family member pinned to her chest.
The new queen wore a brooch known as an Ordensportrættet, which featured a portrait of her mother-in-law Queen Margrethe II surrounded by pearls and diamond.
The brooch was previously worn by Queen Margrethe during her reign, featuring a portrait of her late father instead.
Their children suddenly stepped out from behind them.

It was a surprise for all the excited fans below.
This marks Christian's first official appearance as Crown Prince – the title previously held by his father as heir apparent.
If you're wondering why the future king isn't wearing military uniform like King Frederik, there's a simple explanation.
Christian is yet to complete any military training; it's expected this will come in the near future after he finishes school and embarks on higher education.
