Palace issues update on Princess Mary, Prince Frederick and their four kids after Prince Christian tested positive for COVID-19

The Danish Royal Household has issued a health update for Princess Mary, Prince Frederik and their four children.

"The Crown Prince and Crown Princess and their three youngest children have been tested negative for COVID-19 ," palace spokeswoman Lene Balleby said in a statement.

Princess Isabella, 13, and twins Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine, nine, went into isolation with their parents after the couple's eldest child, Prince Christian, tested positive for coronavirus earlier this week.

Prince Christian, who is heir to the Danish throne after his father Crown Prince Frederik, caught the coronavirus at his school following an outbreak there.

The Palace update says the 15-year-old has not had any symptoms but will continue to stay in isolation until December 14, in accordance with Denmark's guidelines.

Following Prince Christian's diagnosis the whole family went into isolation as a precaution at their Copenhagen home, Frederik VIII's Palace at Amalienborg.

"The Crown Prince and Crown Princess and their three youngest children have subsequently been tested for COVID-19. All test results have been negative," Balleby said.

Denmark has had 101,027 confirmed cases of coronavirus since the start of the pandemic and 918 deaths, according to data from Johns Hopkins University.
