Princess Mary channels Jackie O in delightfully lady-like outfit

Princess Mary has attended the official opening of the Danish Parliament alongside her mother-in-law, Queen Margrethe.

The Australian-born royal performed the perfect curtsy to the monarch as she arrived outside the chambers at Christiansborg Palace, in Copenhagen.

Mary was joined by her husband, Crown Prince Frederik and the Queen's sister, Princess Benedikte.

The opening of parliament is a tradition upheld by the Danish royals annually, where they listen to the Prime Minister's speech, heralding in a new political year.

For Mary, it's occasion where a stunning outfit is almost always guaranteed.

This year, the 47-year-old wore rose-coloured pink coat by Danish-Dutch designer Claes Iversen. She accessorised with a matching pillbox hat and burgundy heels, which paired perfectly with her gloves and clutch.

Her outfit was reminiscent of American First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy, who perfected the look in the 1960s.

Mary has worn the coat and hat on numerous occasions, most recently during a royal visit to Latvia in December, 2018. It was a fitting outfit repeat by Mary, who has long campaigned against the throw away culture of fast fashion, instead promoting sustainability within the industry.

In May, Mary told IN Magazine: "Together with the generations to inherit the earth after us, we must decide how to create a sustainable future for the planet and the people living on it".

Just yesterday, Crown Princess Mary wore a similar colour scheme while attending an event to mark the Danish Supreme Court's 100-year anniversary.

The event was held inside the Thorvaldsens Museum in Copenhagen, next to Christiansborg Palace.
