Why October is a big month for Princess Eugenie

Princess Eugenie stunned the world when she walked down the aisle at her royal wedding with her scar proudly on show, but it's hard to believe that jaw-dropping moment was almost a year ago now.

In the second royal wedding of 2018, Eugenie married Jack Brooksbank in a lavish ceremony at St George's Chapel at Windsor Castle, wowing in classic gown and sparkling tiara.

Now, the pair is gearing up to celebrate their first wedding anniversary on October 12, something the loved-up couple is likely looking forward to after a blissful first year of marriage.

But if they're planning a romantic getaway or staycation in one of the royal family's many castles, it may be cut short, as their anniversary isn't the only major event in Eugenie's calendar that month.

Her charity, The Anti-Slavery Collective, are supporting A21's Walk For Freedom, a massive anti-slavery rally that is being held across the globe in a bid to raise awareness and fundraise to end human trafficking.

And it's expected that Eugenie, along with long-time pal and The Anti-Slavery Collective's co-founder Julia De Boinville, will be getting involved in the event on October 19.

Sharing the event to their charity's Instagram page, The Anti-Slavery Collective urged people to get involved in the effort.

"Join @A21 for the largest rally against slavery of its kind. For a global movement unlike any other. For one day that will change history. To unite behind one cause. One mission. One vision: Freedom," the post was captioned.

"No matter who you are or what you do, you can take action right where you are. Local actions that build and multiply into a global difference."

"On October 19th, will you show up in your city? To rally your community and fight for what unites us all–the belief that slavery should be abolished everywhere, forever."

After sharing such a strong call to action, plenty of royal fans are hoping that Eugenie herself will show up to the Walk in London and help fundraising efforts for a cause close to her heart.

The Princess of York and De Boinville set up the charity in 2017 after travelling to India, where they witnessed the extent to which slavery still exists and decided to take action and use their platforms for good.
