Here’s why the royal wedding is getting a mixed response in the UK

In May this year, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle wed in St. George’s Chapel, and people flocked to Windsor to be a part of the worldwide celebrations. Five months on, and the same can’t be said for the wedding of Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank… so why the lack of excitement around this royal wedding?

The British public is undoubtedly far less concerned with these nuptials than the previous one. As a UK citizen living in London, I can unequivocally say that not one person has expressed their interest to me in Eugenie and Jack’s big day. But while I’ve mostly been met with indifference when mentioning the big day, there’s also a certain amount of anger from some people - particularly as this wedding comes at the cost of the UK taxpayer.
