The names Princess Diana refused to give Wills and Harry

With the arrival of any new member of the royal family, there's always speculation surrounding what the name will be.

With Prince Harry and Meghan Markle set to welcome their first child in a matter of days, many royal fans have been betting what the royal couple will call their new bub, currently referred to as 'Baby Sussex'.

For Harry and elder brother Prince William, their mother Princess Diana was the one behind both of their monikers.

However, it has transpired their were other suggestions put on the table, which Diana politely said "thanks, but no thanks" to, she previously said in Andrew Morton's 1992 biography, Diana: Her True Story.

“The alternative was Arthur and Albert,” she revealed.

Her response to the alternatives? "No thank you."

“There weren’t fights over it," she continued. "It was just a fait accompli.”

While Diana stuck to her guns for the first names of both of her boys, Arthur and Albert made it into the long list of middle names William and Harry have.

Wills' full name is 'William Arthur Philip Louis' and Harry's is 'Henry Charles Albert David'.

As for the moniker of Baby Sussex, there's been much speculation on what Harry and Meghan will choose.

Some bookmakers have strongly pitted Diana to be the top name choice if it's a girl, and Albert for a boy, while others have tipped for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to choose a less traditional name.

While we're chomping at the bit to know, we'll just have to wait and see.
