Belgian princess defends Harry against 'terrible' treatment, 'bullying': 'He was traumatised'
Princess Delphine of Belgium has defended Britain's Prince Harry in a candid new interview.
Delphine, who is the illegitimate child of the country's former King, Albert II, said on the It's Reigning Men podcast she believes Harry is "traumatised" from the death of his mother Diana, the Princess of Wales, in 1997.
Referring to his highly-publicised security battle, the royal, 57, claimed: "I think it's to do with what happened to his mother."

Voicing her support for the Duke of Sussex, she said, "I do follow a little bit of Harry because Lady Diana was just part of my life when I was in England.
"Then she had these children and everything, and then this death was just horrible. Especially seeing these two children left by a very, I thought, natural, nice, normal motherly woman.
"They lost such an important figure, and I feel very sorry for Harry because I think that was traumatic for him. William didn't have a choice.

"I think Harry suffered so much, and I think he was traumatised and it's coming out now."
Speaking about his security battle, after he lost his government-funded protection when he stepped down as a working royal, she said: "This thing about security, I think it's to do with what happened to his mother.
"I understand the guy. He's just traumatised.

"And I understand, so he's doing these things, and everybody's bullying him, but not thinking about his trauma.
"I just find it terrible because I feel like he's just been kind of left."

Prince William was 15 and Harry was 12 when their mother died following a horrific car crash at the age of 36 in Paris, France.
Harry and wife Meghan Markle, who now go by the titles the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, bid farewell to life in the UK and moved their family to California, where they live in Montecito.
In 2020, they stepped down from their roles as senior royals for their new life in the US.
