Monaco's Princess Charlene has shaved her hair into an undercut

Monaco's Princess Charlene has never shied away from a fashion statement, but her latest look absolutely takes the cake.

During a royal appearance on Wednesday, the wife of Prince Albert revealed she had shaved off a section of her hair, embracing an 'undercut' style.

Charlene's blonde hair has been buzzed along her part line at her left temple, extending around to the back of her head.

The mother of two, 42, previously wore her hair in a bob style, though had a short, blunt fringe cut in earlier this year.

Charlene first shared a glimpse of her new look while attending the baptism of a new maritime police boat, alongside Albert and their twins Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella.

The new boat is named for the young princess, who was giving the honour of releasing a cord to break a bottle against the vessel.

For the event, Charlene, a former Olympic swimmer from South Africa, wore a black beret that only partially revealed the shaved section of her head.

However, the hat came off that evening for the traditional Christmas gift distribution and tree ceremony at the Prince's Palace of Monaco.

She teamed her new cut with a sequinned face mask.

The princess was joined at the event once again by her children, who recently celebrated their sixth birthday on December 10.

While we'd love to see more royal women rocking a buzzcut, it doesn't seem likely Kate Middleton and co will ever chop their hair, let alone shave it.
