First glimpse of Princess Beatrice since father's 'car-crash' interview

Princess Beatrice has been spotted visiting her father for the first time since his disastrous BBC interview last week. Prince Andrew confirmed he was stepping back from public duties with the Queen's permission after his televised conversation about former friend and convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein.

Beatrice and her husband-to-be Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi visited the Duke of York at his Windsor home, where he has been in hiding since the 'car crash' interview aired. The pair were seen leaving hours later, both baring huge smiles as the paparazzi captured them on their way out.

However, a source close to Beatrice has told the Daily Mail she has been 'in tears every day' since the interview aired, as she was instrumental in her father's decision to agree to it.

It is claimed Beatrice and her mother Sarah Ferguson were among key figures who encouraged Andrew to speak publicly about his association with Epstein, a convicted sex offender. Sarah was keen to end speculation about the her ex-husband's involvement with Epstein, who died of an apparent suicide in a jail cell in August, ahead of Beatrice's upcoming nuptials.

It is also rumoured the heir to the throne, Prince Charles, is ropable at his younger brother. Along with Prince William, he has reportedly planned to scale back the royal responsibilities of not only Andrew, but both of his daughters due to the irreparable damage the controversy has inflicted on the monarchy.

Sources believe this means Beatrice and Edo's upcoming nuptials may endure a significant scale-back in order to avoid using tax-payer dollars.

"It will be more low-key," a close friend told the Daily Mail, adding, "Bea and Edo are happy for their wedding to get less attention."

However, 9Honey's royal commentator Victoria Arbiter says Beatrice had always planned to have a smaller wedding than that of her younger sister, Eugenie.
