Prince William visits the London Screen Academy after ditching red carpet tradition
Just days ago it was confirmed that the Prince and Princess of Wales would be cancelling a beloved royal tradition and missing this year's BAFTA Awards.
However, to show their continued support for the film industry, William has made an appearance at the London Screen Academy.
The Academy was set up by the makers of iconic franchises such as the Harry Potter and James Bond to train the next generation of film makers and help diversify the industry.

The future monarch took the time to chat with students and learn about their studies, even taking the opportunity to get behind the camera on a tracking dolly to help capture some key shots.
"As the industry celebrates the best in film at the @bafta Awards on Sunday, the future of film is already in the making at the @londonscreenacademy," read a post made on William and Kate's official Instagram page.
"At LSA, students gain hands-on experience in all aspects of production, from scriptwriting to set design, cinematography to post-production.
"The end of year project sees 380 students transform the school into a working film set," they added.
"This year's short film, Melomania, featured a dystopian Steampunk submarine and a mysterious dock house, all built and filmed by these talented young people."

During his visit, William met with representatives from both the BAFTA and LSA boards to discuss the future opportunities for young people coming up in the film and television industry.
"It feels as though a lot of people don't know that they can be in the film industry," shared the royal, adding that "the film star essence... is so distant from reality".
During his visit , William explored all areas of the school chatting with technical, production management, post production and craft students.
While in the hair and makeup department he was taught how to apply prosthetics to make it look as though there was a scar on his hand.

Stepping into the shoes of legendary actor and director Sir Richard Attenborough, William took on the role of BAFTA president back in 2010 and has remained there for the past 15 years.
He's been known to make an appearance at the event several times, however has never attended two years in a row.

So when it was announced that both he and Kate would be absent from this year's ceremony, it wasn't entirely surprising.
Last year, William attended the event alone while Kate remained home, recovering from her planned abdominal surgery.
It hasn't yet been revealed why the couple will miss this years ceremony, however some royal watchers speculate that since the date of the event lines up with the start of the school break, the family are choosing to spend some private time together.
