Prince William attends BAFTA Awards as Catherine continues her recovery
Prince William has attended the 2024 BAFTAS without wife Catherine who continues to recover from a planned abdominal surgery.
William, 41, walked the red carpet at the event at the Royal Festival Hall in London solo – something he usually does with the Princess of Wales.
The royal has been the president of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts since 2010.

William's arrival was shared on his official social media channels along with the caption: "Always a pleasure to join the best of the film industry at The @bafta Awards.
Congratulations to all of this evening's nominees and winners! #EEBAFTAs."

Upon his arrival at the BAFTAS, Prince William was greeted by Anna Higgs, Chairwoman of BAFTA's Film Committee.
He was also greeted by celebrity friends including Australia's Cate Blanchett and football legend David Beckham.
Prince William returns to royal duties after spending the past week focused on caring for his wife and their three children Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, eight, and Prince Louis, five, who are on break from Lambrook School.

People reported Catherine leaving their home in Windsor for the first time since her surgery on January 16, when the family travelled to their country home on the Sandringham Estate in Norfolk.
A friend told the publication Prince William is "coping remarkably well" amid her recovery and King Charles' cancer treatment.

Kensington Palace revealed the news of the Princess of Wales' surgery in a statement shared on January 17.
"The surgery was successful, and it is expected that she will remain in hospital for ten to fourteen days, before returning home to continue her recovery," the statement read.

"Based on the current medical advice, she is unlikely to return to public duties until after Easter."
While the nature of Catherine's surgery still isn't known, it is understood to be non-cancerous.

King Charles' cancer type has also not been disclosed, although it has been confirmed not to be prostate cancer.
Charles underwent treatment for a benign enlarged prostate in mid-January.
