United in grief: Prince Harry and Prince William reunite at Prince Philip's funeral
Prince William and Prince Harry have finally come face to face after more than a year of "tension" following Harry's royal exit.
The brothers have appeared together in public for the first time since March 2020 at the funeral of their grandfather, Prince Philip, who died on April 9, 2021. They had briefly come together behind closed doors when the royal family gathered in the State Entrance Hall before the Duke of Edinburgh's coffin.

But Mr Philips did appear to walk slightly slower than William and Harry, with the brothers appearing to keep pace with each other a few steps ahead of their cousin.
With downcast eyes, Prince William and Harry began the slow walk from the State Entrance of Windsor Castle to St George's Chapel.
The two princes have been at odds for over a year, with regular reports of "tension" between Harry and William.
The last time the brothers were seen in public together was at the Commonwealth Day service on March 9, 2020, which Harry attended with wife Meghan Markle.
It was one of their final engagements as senior members of the royal family before they relocated to the US and quit their roles in the monarchy.

Since the move, Harry has allegedly had limited contact with his elder brother, speaking with William only a few times over the phone according to reports.
They have been brought back together now by the death of their grandfather, Harry rushing to the UK shortly after news of Prince Philip's death broke.

He then spent five days in isolation at Frogmore Cottage, in Windsor, where he and Meghan used to live in the UK with their son Archie.
Harry has been given permission to attend Philip's funeral on compassionate grounds, but is expected to return to isolation after the official service.

Both he and William took to social media to share tributes to their late grandfather following his death on April 9.
"I feel lucky to have not just had his example to guide me, but his enduring presence well into my own adult life – both through good times and the hardest days," William said.
Harry wrote: "To me, like many of you who have lost a loved one or grandparent over the pain of this past year, he was my grandpa: master of the barbecue, legend of banter, and cheeky right 'til the end."

There was mass speculation about their reunion in the lead up to Philip's funeral, with some commentators concerned the "rift" between them may overshadow the sombre occasion.

However, several experts said the brothers would not want to divert attention away from honouring their grandfather's memory.
"Tensions are still obviously running high, a lot has been said and wounds are still very raw," a source told The Mirror.
"But there is a realisation that everyone does need to reach some form of resolution, if only for the Queen, who has said it is her wish that the family comes together."
