Prince Philip admitted into hospital days before Christmas
Prince Philip has been admitted into hospital just a few days before Christmas.
Buckingham Palace confirmed the 98-year-old travelled from Norfolk to London on Friday morning local time.
"The Duke of Edinburgh travelled from Norfolk this morning to the King Edward VII Hospital in London for observation and treatment in relation to a pre-existing condition.

"The admission is a precautionary measure, on the advice of His Royal Highness' Doctor," the statement said.
According to a number of royal commentators, the 98-year-old was driven by car and walked into the hospital for the planned admission, he was not rushed there.
It's expected the Duke will remain in hospital for the next few days.

Her Majesty made her way on the train today to Norfolk, where the British Royal Family celebrates the Christmas holidays at their Sandringham Estate.
Prince Philip was photographed recently at the estate with his son Prince Andrew, following the Duke of York's announcement he would take a "step back from public duties" in light of the Jeffrey Epstein interview fallout.
The Duke of Edinburgh, who retired from public life two years ago, was last seen publicly in May at Lady Gabriella Windsor's wedding in Windsor.
