The never-before-seen detail many missed in Harry and Meghan's Christmas card

There was a never-before-seen detail in the Duke and Duchess of Sussex' Christmas card this year – and no, we're not talking about Archie and Lilibet.

Prince Harry and Meghan have just released the family's holiday card for 2024, which featured six sweet photos from their year.

Royal fans delighted in seeing photos of Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet for the first time in years, but another family member featured in the photos for the first time ever.

That family member just so happens to be the Sussexes' four-legged friend, Mamma Mia.

In one photo, Harry, Meghan and the kids are pictured with their three dogs – Mia, fellow rescue beagle Guy, and black Labrador Pula.

While we've seen glimpses of Pula and Guy before, this is our first time seeing the three together and the first time Harry and Meghan have given fans a glimpse of Mia, despite adopting her over two years ago.

Harry and Meghan welcomed Mia, who was rescued from a testing laboratory, in the middle of 2022.

The then seven-year-old beagle was one of 4000 dogs seized by US authorities in Virginia in July that year.

The Los Angeles Times reported at the time that Meghan and Harry had made an after-hours visit to the San Fernando Valley house where many of the rescue pups had been taken.

Shannon Keith, an animal rights attorney who runs the Beagle Freedom Project, said she got a phone call from Meghan but had no idea who she was.

"She calls on my cell with no Caller ID and says, 'Hey Shannon, this is Meghan,'" Keith told the publication.

"We talked for 30 minutes, and I thought, 'Is this Megan Fox?'"

Harry and Meghan, accompanied by two security guards, later visited the sanctuary where they fell in love with Mia.

Mia had transported, along with eight of her newborn puppies, from Maryland where the dogs had been taken after being rescued from the Virginia lab.

"The duchess is holding Mia and was like, 'We're adopting her,'" Keith said.

"She was like 'No, we don't want a Christmas puppy. … We want ones we can help who are older.'"

Two years later, Mia is clearly a beloved member of the Sussex family along with Pula and Guy.

Guy is the oldest member of Harry and Meghan's furry brood. The rescue beagle made the big move over to the UK with the duchess when she began her life with Prince Harry.

He was a regular guest on the Instagram page Meghan had before her relationship with the prince began. More recently he scored plenty of screen time in Harry & Meghan, the couple's Netflix docuseries that was released in 2022.

As for Pula, she was introduced to the family ahead of Archie's birth. Her name remained a mystery for months until it was finally revealed to be Pula, which is the currency of Botswana, a country with personal significance to the couple.

The Labrador made a brief cameo in the background of the couple's Time100 TV appearance back in 2020.
