Prince Harry claims Meghan was told to keep acting by the palace because 'there was not enough money'
Revelations from Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's interview continue to roll out, with the duke claiming members of his family suggested Meghan continue acting "because there was not enough money to pay for her."
Providing a damning insight into life in the British royal family during their two-hour TV special with Oprah, the couple revealed instances where Meghan had been subject to unfair treatment.
At the time the pair met, Meghan had been working as an actress, most famous for her role as paralegal Rachel Zane in the legal drama Suits.

Prince Harry told Oprah there were "difficult conversations" prior to the couple's 2018 wedding, saying, "There was some real obvious signs, before we even got married, that this was going to be really hard."
"At the beginning, when [Meghan] wasn't going to get security, when members of my family were suggesting that she carries on acting because there was not enough money to pay for her, and all this sort of stuff."
In November 2017, Meghan confirmed she would be giving up acting as she announced her engagement to Prince Harry.

At the time, the actress said she was ready for a "new chapter".
"I don't see it as giving anything up, I just see it as a change. It's a new chapter. And also keep in mind I have been working on my show for seven years," she said in a BBC interview.
"So we're very, very fortunate to be able to have that sort of longevity on a series and for me, once we hit the 100-episode marker I thought, 'You know what? I have ticked this box'… I feel really proud of the work I've done there."

The pair stepped down from their roles as senior royals officially in March 2020, telling Oprah "without question" they wouldn't have done so if they'd had more support from the royal institution.
Prince Harry said his family "literally cut [him] off financially" in the first quarter of 2020, and the couple forged their Netflix and Spotify deals to pay for their security.
The duke said he relied on the money his mother Princess Diana left him, saying, "Without that, we would not have been able to do this."
