Prince George's striking resemblance to unexpected royal family member

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge released an adorable new video of their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, on Saturday.

The clip shows the royal kids asking Sir David Attenborough sweet questions about the natural world in one of the first recordings of the children speaking.

But eagle-eyed royal fans spotted something else in the cute clip - George bears a striking resemblance to another royal.

Several people took to social media to point out the similarities between George and an unexpected relative, noting that the resemblance is uncanny in the new clip.

According to a number of royal fans, George looks just like his great-uncle, Earl Spencer.

Charles Spencer, who is the ninth Earl Spencer, was Princess Diana's brother and uncle to her two sons, Prince William and Prince Harry.

Now it looks like the Spencer genes have been passed down to William's children, fans pointing out the many similarities between George and Earl Spencer.

The two share a very similar facial structure, as well as large round eyes and sandy blonde hair.

An old photo of Earl Spencer as a child, with sister Diana, makes the resemblance even more apparent – he's the spitting image of George in the snap from 1968.

This isn't the first time one of the Cambridge children have been likened to their royal relatives, with many people pointing out that Princess Charlotte looks a great deal like her late grandmother, Diana.

Several photos of the young princess over the years have shown the uncanny resemblance between her and the 'People's Princess'.

Charlotte has also been likened to Lady Kitty Spencer, Princess Diana's niece, suggesting the Spencer gene runs strong in the Cambridge family.

Each of the Cambridge children have been likened to other royal tots through the years, but as they grow and their features become more defined, their resemblances may shift.

In the meantime, royal fans will continue to muse over every new photos of the sweet royal trio.
