Prince George isn't the first royal to be 'shushed' on the palace balcony

If there’s a defining image from this year’s Trooping the Colour parade, it’s that of Savannah Phillips sassily ‘shushing’ her cousin Prince George.

Watching the event from the Buckingham Palace balcony, Princess Anne’s seven-year-old granddaughter reached out and covered the giggling prince’s mouth with her hand.

However, Peter and Autumn Phillips’ daughter isn’t the first royal child to pull that very move on the palace balcony.

Nope, longtime royal rebel Prince Harry got there first (because of course he did).

Back in 1990, the then-six-year-old took it upon himself to silence his younger cousin Princess Beatrice during the Battle of Britain 50th Anniversary Parade.

Of course, the Duke of Sussex has had plenty of cheeky moments over the years - the cute photo of him sticking out his tongue while in mum’s arms at Trooping the Colour is an enduring one.

Back to this year's shushing incident - a royal observer reckons Savannah was doing some damage control, rather than being sassy for the sake of it.
