Monaco royal family celebrate National Day 2024

The Monaco royal family stepped out in style to celebrate the principality's National Day today.

The parents, Prince Albert and Princess Charlene, adorably chose to match with their twins Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella on the occasion.

The two Princes wore black military uniforms with hats, with nine-year-old Jacques giving a sharp salute during the military parade.

Meanwhile, the two princesses wore matching pastel ensembles. Charlene wore a tailored lavender suit set with matching fascinator that was topped with black feathers sticking out of it.

Gabriella wore a periwinkle blue coat-dress with white stockings and flats, matching her hairstyles with her mother with a bun and a blue headband with a bow atop her head.

In the morning, the royal couple attended a morning mass at Monaco Cathedral and later made an appearance at the Court of Honour at Princely Palace with their children.

The family later enjoyed the processions on the holiday – also known as Prince Day or La Fête du Prince – watching above from the palace balcony along with other royal family members, including Prince Albert's sisters, Princess Caroline and Princess Stephanie, Caroline's kids Charlotte Casiraghi, Andrea Casiraghi, Pierre Casiraghi and Princess Alexandra of Hanover, Stephanie's kids Louis Ducruet, Camille Gottlieb and Pauline Ducruet, and more.

The twins were seen excitedly waving and reacting to the parade, with their faces basked in sunshine, similar to how the British royals children do.

National Day has been celebrated in Monaco since 1734, with this year marking the 290th celebration. The date of the actual celebration usually shifted with each monarch, with the Princes usually matching the date to the day of the patron saint they were named after.

However, Prince Albert decided to keep it on November 19, which was the date his father Prince Rainier chose due to it being the day of Saint Rainier.

It was also marks the date of Albert II's official ascension to the throne.
