Mike Tindall's surprise nickname for wife Zara accidentally revealed

We know the British Royal Family love having little nicknames for each other.

And now we know what Zara Tindall's pet name is from husband Mike Tindall, after it was accidentally revealed during a live recording of his rugby podcast.

In a game of 'Would You Rather' on the House of Rugby podcast, the former England team captain was asked which he would choose between "marry a Royal or win a World Cup?"

With a smirk, the father-of-two replied: "Well, I've done both technically".

After a bit of a pause while mulling over the question Mike asked: "Well, hang on... would it be my wife? I'd be marrying?"

To which host Alex Payne clarified that it wouldn't be just any Royal, it would in fact be Zara - or Zoey - as he slipped out.

Which then Mike confirmed was his nickname for his wife of eight years.

"Could we take Zoey out of it? Or...?" he asked to make his choice easier.

"You choose," Alex told him, to which Mike said: "Obviously if it's my wife, I'd marry my wife."

"Awwww...correct answer," Alex responded to claps from the live audience as the podcast was recorded in Japan, ahead of England's Rugby World Cup clash there this weekend.

In fact Mike was part of the England team to win the Rugby World Cup in 2003, with the Outside Centre player retiring from the sport in 2014.

Mike married Zara Phillips, daughter of Princess Anne and the Queen's eldest granddaughter, in July 2011 in Edinburgh.

The couple have two daughters - five-year-old Mia and one-year-old Lena.

Zara isn't the only Royal spouse to have their nickname revealed recently, with Meghan admitting in a TV interview that she calls Prince Harry, simply 'H'.
