Mike Tindall has confirmed he's yet to meet the newest addition to the British Royal Family.

While appearing on Good Morning Britain to promote his charity golf day, the former rugby union player was asked if he'd met Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor.

Seeming both a little amused and annoyed, he told co-hosts Ben Shephard and Kate Garraway: "No, we still haven't managed to get together yet. Everyone seems to think that we've all been round but it's just not that way, is it?

"I'm hoping we'll get to see him soon but it just doesn't work that way but at least he's happy and healthy and their happy so, that's all you can be for them is overjoyed."

In fact it took Prince Charles and Prince William and Kate a week before they were able to meet the newborn at Frogmore Cottage, in Windsor.

The Queen and Prince Philip were the first members of the Royal Family to meet Archie.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle notified the young royals of their son's arrival on the family's WhatsApp group PA AAP

The father-of-two also confirmed on the breakfast TV show that he did find out Prince Harry and Meghan Markle had welcomed their new baby on the family's WhatsApp group.

And it seems the young royals are just like any other family, using the app to share news and co-ordinate their next family meet up.

"It's just so when you do try and set up get togethers, or if we are going to something that's the same - or if you are gonna go, are you gonna take the kids?" Tindall laughed talking about playdates.

"I think quite a lot of people have family WhatsApp groups, so I don't think it's a new revelation," he added.

Mike married into the Royal Family in 2011, when he and Zara tied the knot in Scotland.

The couple now have two daughters - Mia, five, and Lena, 11 months.
