Meghan borrowed Prince Harry's jacket in New Zealand and we didn't even notice

Evidently, even princes aren't immune to having their partners raid their wardrobes.

On the final day of their Royal Tour of the Pacific, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle completed the picturesque Redwoods Treewalk in New Zealand's Rotorua.

Swapping her sheer Givenchy skirt for a pair of black jeans and flats, the Duchess of Sussex, 37, chucked on a matching puffer jacket.

Though we're well accustomed to seeing Meghan and her sister-in-law Catherine re-wearing items of clothing, this was a slightly different take on royal wardrobe "recycling".

The puffer jacket in question had, in fact, already been worn during the royal tour—by Meghan's husband.

Harry, 34, rugged up in the black Norrøna "Oslo" coat on Monday when the couple took a stroll through Abel Tasman National Park, with Meghan wearing a raincoat.

We can only speculate as to why the Duchess chose the puffer jacket for their second forest outing.

Maybe she saw how dashing Harry looked in it the first time around and wanted a piece of the action. (Fair.)

Maybe it's actually her jacket, but Harry forgot to pack one of his own when they left London ("But I thought you put it in the suitcase?") so he had to borrow it for outing #1, and she refused to indulge him a second time.

Maybe Harry was originally wearing it, but begrudgingly loaned it to his wife because she underestimated how cold a Redwood forest in New Zealand could be and insisted she'd be fine in her flimsy Givenchy jumper before they left for the day.

Or, perhaps Meghan is following in the footsteps of many a wife and girlfriend before her, honouring the time-honoured ritual of women stealing their partner's clothing.

In fact, we like to imagine the Duchess is currently snugged up in Harry's favourite grey hoodie, even though she has a perfectly comfortable one of her own, on their flight back to the UK.

Regardless of the explanation, more Harry-Meghan wardrobe swaps in future can only be a good thing.
