Meghan Markle’s special tribute to Harry in Royal Wedding speech

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Royal Wedding was full of romantic moments and one of the most touching was the bride’s speech during the evening reception, at Frogmore House.

It was an intimate affair, reserved for the couple’s closest friends and family, and was hosted by Prince Charles.

The 36-year-old Duchess of Sussex broke with tradition when she addressed guests - talking about her new hubby, and her new royal family.

It is custom that a royal bride’s father deliver a speech on behalf of his daughter.

But Meghan’s dad, Thomas Markle Sr, was too ill to attend the nuptials so the Duchess took matters into her own hands.

Royal commentator Katie Nicholl says Meghan’s speech included affectionate tributes to her new husband, the royal family, and her mother Doria Ragland.

"She is an outspoken, self-proclaimed feminist and I was told she wanted to have the chance to say, in person, a very big thank you to the royal family, which is exactly what she did," Nicholl told ET.

"When it came to her new husband, Harry, she said, 'I finally found my prince’.

"It was very romantic and very sweet."

While the bride showered her mother with gratitude, it seems her father failed to get a mention.

"I'm not sure what she said, if anything, about Thomas Markle."

Prince Harry also delighted guests when he delivered an “off-the-cuff” speech about his bride at the lunchtime reception.

The new Duke of Sussex reportedly moved his guests to tears, saying he and his new wife make "a great team".

Prince Harry also appeared to reference the Markle family drama in the week leading up to the wedding, telling Meghan she had "navigated everything with such grace".
