The Duchess of Sussex has returned to Instagram for a special throwback to her first ever charity project with the royal family.

Meghan shared a photo from her visit to the Hubb Community Kitchen, in London, reflecting on the success of Together: Our Community Cookbook, which the Duchess created in partnership with the women.

The Duchess made a series of secret visits to the kitchen before her collaboration was announced by Kensington Palace.

"It was just one year ago that The Duchess of Sussex made a special visit to the women of The Hubb Community Kitchen to help prepare meals for those in need," read Meghan's post, via the Sussex Royal Instagram account.

"The connection between The Duchess and these women began a year prior, as she supported them in the creation of 'Together', a charity cookbook which celebrates the power of cooking to bring communities together.

"The cookbook showcases recipes from women whose community was affected by the 2017 Grenfell Tower fire in London."

The Duchess wrote the foreword for the recipe collection – which raised money for the Grenfell community – and touched on her love of food.

"I have a lifelong interest in the story of food—where it comes from, why we embrace it, and how it brings us together: the universal connection to community through the breaking of bread," she explained in the book.

The book was such a success it went one straight to Number One on the Amazon Best Seller list in both Australia and the UK, where it knocked JK Rowling from the top spot. It also placed on the New York Times Bestseller List and The Sunday Times Booklist.

Meghan's latest Instagram post confirmed the Hubb Community Kitchen was continuing to have a positive impact both in the UK and abroad.

"Thank you, ladies, for the leadership and inspiration that your cooking and love of community brings to all those around you," the Sussex Royal post continued.

"We remain so very proud of the good work that you continue to do, and cannot wait to see what 2020 brings!"
