Meghan Markle thanks fans for birthday wishes with heartfelt note

Meghan Markle has quickly become a beloved member of the Royal Family, so it's no surprise to learn she was flooded with messages on her 37th birthday last month.

According to The Sun, the Duchess of Sussex took the time to make sure everyone who reached out to her on August 4 received a thank you card from Kensington Palace, letting them know how "touched" she was with their kind words.

It read, "The Duchess of Sussex is so touched you took the trouble to write as you did on the occasion of her 37th birthday. It really was most thoughtful of you and Her Royal Highness sends you her heartfelt thanks and best wishes."

The card is being seen as another sign of how down-to-earth Meghan is, with some fans sharing the card on social media.

It isn't common practice for members of the Royal Family to send thank you messages to well-wishes - however, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge did so on the occasion of their seventh wedding anniversary in April.

They also followed suit for Prince George's fifth birthday. 

Since Meghan's May 19 wedding to Prince Harry, the new Duchess has been plagued with family problems, with the Royal Family circling protectively around her as she does her best to rise above the criticism she is receiving from her father Thomas Markle Sr, and half siblings Samantha, 53, and Thomas Jr, 52.

There have been reports that Meghan's mother Doria Ragland has been spending time with her daughter in London. 

The former actress' father claimed in a recent interview that he had sent a birthday card to his daughter to Kensington Palace; however, this hasn't been confirmed.
