Meghan Markle's 'dad' has arrived in London ahead of the birth of Baby Sussex.

Well, the Suits star's former TV dad that is... but Wendell Pierce sounds just as enthused to be in town at this special time as one might imagine the Duchess's own father would be.

After flying into London, the actor took to social media to share his excitement at the imminent Royal Baby.

"It’s great to be living & working in London while the excitement builds around the Duchess of Sussex soon giving birth to her first child," Pierce tweeted.

"Meghan I’m very happy for you. Blessings," he added followed by a baby emoji.

The post has had thousands of likes from fans and hundreds of re-tweets.

Pierce, who plays Robert Zane on the hit drama, was "unable to attend" last year's Royal Wedding.

But he's not exclusively in town this time just to support his former co-star. The actor will be taking on West End theatre during his stint in London.

According to Pierce, he and Meghan, who played Robert's daughter Rachel Zane across the series, used to talk about her romance with Harry in code on set.

He also revealed in the lead up to the wedding, Britain's equivalent to the Secret Service started showing up on their Toronto set as things got more serious with the Prince.

"I actually didn’t believe it was real, then all of a sudden I turn around and there is this guy from MI-5 on set every day," he told Extra TV.

"The one thing that was clear, she was extremely happy,” he added. "She had a glow. I knew she was in love… With the whirlwind of publicity and the world of being a royal now, the one thing that’s constant is the fact that I know she loves him."
