Meghan Markle's Suits co-star Patrick J Adams shares strong message for online trolls: 'I don't read any of it'

Meghan Markle's former co-star and on-screen lover Patrick J Adams has a strong message for online trolls.

The Suits actor, 40, asked fans of the Duchess of Sussex to please stop including him in internet discussions about Meghan, claiming people should have "better things" to do.

"Hello to the people and many bots debating all things Markle and including me in the conversation," Adams began his message on Twitter.

"I just want you to know a couple of things. 1. I don't read any of it. 2. Life is short. 3. There has to [sic] got to be better things for you to be doing. Even you, bots."

The Canadian-born actor didn't specify what prompted his blunt message, however, Meghan has been the target of endless online abuse since the advent of her relationship with Prince Harry.

Adams, who played Meghan's boyfriend Mike in the hit series Suits from 2011 until 2019, has been caught in the crossfire of many online barbs at the former royal. He was also a guest at Meghan and Prince Harry's royal wedding in 2011.

Following Meghan and Harry's bombshell Oprah interview, Adams defended the royals on Twitter and said his friend was "stronger than people realised".

"It sickened me to read the endless racist, slanderous, click-baiting vitriol spewed in her direction from all manner of media across the UK and the world," he tweeted.

"But I also knew that Meghan was stronger than people realized or understood and they would regret underestimating her."

Adams has previously spoken about his friendship with Meghan since she married into the royal family, admitting he has a "fear" of picking up the phone and calling her.

"Quite frankly, I think I'm intimidated," Adams told Radio Times in 2020. "I have no doubt I could pick up the phone and call her at any moment, but I don't know what I would say."

"I think it's pure fear. I guess I'm scared about the idea of breaking through whatever walls exist to have that conversation."
