Meghan Markle's sister offers 'barbed' new year's advice to the Duchess

Samantha Markle has hit out at half-sister Meghan once again, just days after being placed on a "fixated persons list" by the police royalty and specialist protection unit due to the "reputational risk" that she poses to the royal family.

Samantha, 53, has posted a New Year's message for 2019, urging the Duchess of Sussex to "be honest" and "show gratitude".

She tells the Daily Star her younger sibling's New Year's resolution should be to "pay tribute" to those who have helped her the most, including father Thomas Markle Sr.

"Thank him for your college education, your career, building every stage you set foot on, but really appreciate the people that care about you," she continues. 

Samantha goes on to remind Meghan, 37, to "count her blessings and reflect moving forward in the new year" and "pay that gratitude forward to your children so that they also thank you."

As for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s unborn child, Samantha suggested her sister "carry on the family legacy".

Concluding her post, she added that Meghan should "eat more chocolate" to "sweeten her disposition" for the year ahead.

It's also been revealed Samantha sent a Christmas card to the Duchess, pleading with her to end the rift with their "very hurt" dad Thomas. 

"Life is short and you know dad is wonderful," she writes. "Please give him joy in his last years by showing that you love him. The time is NOW."

Thomas Markle appeared on Good Morning Britain late last year to ask the Queen to help heal the divide between him and his daughter.
