Meghan Markle reveals impressive home feature in latest video from new mansion

Meghan Markle has given royal fans another peek inside her and Prince Harry's lavish mansion home, and boy did they spot some impressive features.

Joining a video call with the charity Smart Works, which the Duchess of Sussex worked with in her time as a senior royal, Meghan revealed a new part of her Santa Barbara home.

Sitting in front of a grand stone fireplace, Meghan was surrounded by luxe little details, including what appeared to be a vintage print.

The framed print, which sat above the Duchess on the fireplace mantle, features artwork taken from the cover of the sheet music for "I Love You, California," the regional anthem of (you guessed it) California.

It shows a bear holding an outline of the state, and pays tribute to the state Meghan grew up in and now calls home again.

Of course, the fireplace was the most impressive feature that caught royal fans' eyes, but they also spotted some more relatable interior design choices.

From a large potted plant which seemed to be a fiddle leaf fig – maybe Meghan's a 'plant mum' – to a tiny lamp above the fireplace, the home's minimalist decoration is a far cry from what you'd find inside most royal residences.

Royal homes in the UK are traditionally decked out in gold and antiques, but Meghan and Harry appear to have taken a more modern approach to decorating their Santa Barbara mansion.

They're still holding onto their royal ties though, Meghan joining the call on Saturday for the anniversary of a charity project she launched as the Smart Works royal patron.

In 2019 she designed a capsule wardrobe for UK women's charity Smart Works, designed to help women struggling with employment.

Now she has joined three women who have been helped by the charity on the anniversary of the launch.

During the chat, she told the women that "confidence" is the best accessory a woman can wear and encouraged them to find beauty inside.

"People can say that so much of Smart Works is about the clothes themselves but it's really not," the Duchess said.

"All of that stuff is the exterior but it's what it does for you on the inside that ends up being the best accessory. It's the confidence, it's what is built within, that is the piece that you walk out of that room with and walk into the interview with."

Since leaving the royal family officially in March, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been pursuing new projects they were unable to as royals.

But they've also chosen to remain close to several of the charities and patronages they championed during their time as senior working royals.
