Meghan Markle jumps on a commercial flight to watch Serena Williams in US Open final

Meghan Markle has flown back to America, jumping on a last minute flight.

The Duchess of Sussex decided to head over to cheer on bestie Serena Williams in her US Open finals match.

"It is a last-minute trip," a source told the Times. "Excited to support her friend, and then come back."

Prince Harry and Archie have stayed behind in the UK, and the Royal is reportedly travelling without staff, just a small security detail.

The former Suits star flew a commercial airline for the flight, in the wake of the couple's private jet controversy.

Meghan and Harry faced backlash in the media after taking a number of private flights at the same time as asking businesses to do more to help tackle climate change.

It's not the first time Meghan's been on-hand to support her friend.

The Duchess of Sussex joined the Duchess of Cambridge to attend the Wimbledon Ladies Singles Finals together for the first time in 2018, just a month after Meghan married into the Royal Family.

The Duchess duo attended the final again this year, with Serena also making it through but again missing out on the win.
